Kumho Petrochemical Privacy Policy

Kumho Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ‘Kumho Petrochemical’) values the personal information of users and adheres to regulations set by the Personal Information Protection Act, Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and other related legal provisions concerning personal information protection.

Through our Privacy Policy, Kumho Petrochemical informs users of how the company utilizes personal information provided by the users and the measures taken to protect personal information. This Privacy Policy may be updated in accordance with changes in laws and public notifications or the company’s terms and conditions and internal policies. When revising this policy, the company will post the changes on the service screen or notify users of the changes.

Users may refuse to consent to the collection, use, provision, and outsourcing of personal information as described below. However, in such cases, the user may not be able to use all or part of the services.

This website allows free access to content without a separate membership registration process. However, Kumho Petrochemical collects the following personal information for user inquiries, business proposals, etc.

2. Purpose of Personal Information Collection and Its Use

Kumho Petrochemical uses the collected personal information for the following purposes. The collected personal information will not be used for purposes other than those listed below; if the usage purpose changes, we will take obtain separate consent.

1) Inquiries
- Identity verification for users' online inquiries, prevention of abusive or unauthorized use by malicious users, handling of complaints and other customer service matters, and delivery of notifications

2) Business Proposals
- Identity verification of business proposal applicants, contact for business proposal adoption and negotiation, prevention of abusive or unauthorized use by malicious users

3. Personal Information Retention and Use Period

In principle, Kumho Petrochemicals promptly disposes of the collected personal information once the purpose of collection and use is achieved. However, if required by relevant laws and regulations, the company retains personal information for a specific period as stipulated by applicable laws.

- Records related to cancellation of contracts or subscriptions, etc.: 5 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)

- Records related to resolution of consumer complaints or disputes: 3 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)
- Records related to the collection, processing, and use of credit information: 3 years (Credit Information Use and Protection Act)
- Materials confirming the collection, use, and provision of location information: 1 year (Act on the Protection, Use, etc. of Location Information)
- Records related to service use: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

4. Entrustment of Personal Information Processing

For efficient personal information processing tasks, Kumho Petrochemical has entrusted the personal information processing tasks as follows.

- Entrusted Party: EIP Co., Ltd.
- Details of Entrusted Tasks: Website management and system maintenance

The company ensures the safety of personal information protection when entrusting the processing of personal information. It specifies, in documents such as contracts, the prohibition of processing personal information beyond the scope of the entrusted work, the implementation of technical and managerial protective measures, the management and supervision of the trustee, restrictions on re-entrustment, and the return or disposal of personal information after processing is completed among others. It also ensures that the trustee securely processes the personal information.
If the content of the entrusted work or the trustee changes, we will promptly disclose it through this privacy policy.

5. Provision of Collected Personal Information to Third Parties

Kumho Petrochemical does not, in principle, provide users' personal information to third parties. However, exceptions are made in the following cases:

- When users have given prior consent
- When required by law or requested by investigative authorities under legal procedures and methods for investigative purposes

6. Procedure and Method of Personal Information Disposal

Kumho Petrochemical principally destroys the personal information once the purpose of its collection and use has been fulfilled. The disposal procedure and method are as follows.

1) Disposal Procedure
Information entered by the user is moved to a separate DB (or separate documentation in paper form) once the purpose is achieved and is stored for a certain period in accordance with information protection guidelines outlined in internal policies and relevant laws (refer to Retention and Use Period) before being destroyed. The personal information transferred to the DB will not be used for any other purpose unless required by law.

2) Disposal Method
- Personal information printed on paper is destroyed through shredding or incineration.
- Personal information saved in electronic file format is deleted using a technical method that guarantees the irretrievability of the records.

7. Rights of Users and Legal Representatives and Methods of Exercise

Users and their legal representatives may access, correct, or request deletion of their registered personal information at any time. They may also contact Kumho Petrochemical’s personal information protection officer in writing or by phone, and prompt action will be taken accordingly.

If a user requests correction of inaccurate information, the relevant data will not be used or provided until the correction is completed. Furthermore, personal information terminated or deleted upon users or their legal representatives request is processed according to what is specified in ‘Personal Information Retention and Use Period’ and is not accessible or used for other purposes.

However, access or correction of all or part of personal information may be denied in any of the following cases:

- When there is a significant risk of harm to the life, body, property, or rights of the individual or third parties
- When there is a risk of significant hindrance to the Kumho Petrochemical’s business operations
- When it violates laws or regulations

8. Installation, Operation, and Refusal of Automatic Personal Information Collection Tools

Kumho Petrochemical installs and operates automatic data collection tools such as ‘cookies’, which store and retrieve user information as needed. A cookie is a small text file sent by the server used to operate the company’s website to the user’s browser, and it is stored on the user’s computer hard drive.

The company uses cookies for the following purposes:

10. Addendum

This Privacy Policy was established on December 1, 2009. In case of any additions, deletions, or modifications due to changes in government policies or security technologies, Kumho Petrochemicals will announce it on the website at least seven days before the revision.
